- Cadres choosing to adopt a WS family for Christmas should have their gifts to Chrysta by December 15th. Wrapping is optional but please clearly label all packages.
Climate cadre’s family consist of a mom and daughter age 6
(baby dolls, movies, Hannah Montana, play make-up, clothes size 7&8, and family gifts such as toiletries and laundry items). Who will bring what?

TIGER PRIDE
- Special class teachers limit awards to one per grade level.
- Remain holding TPA once a quarter
- Ask custodians to put up more chairs especially for teachers to sit
VETERAN’S DAY
- Video and set up need to be previewed prior to the assembly; covering windows if necessary.
- Request for information and photos need to be sent home with students two weeks prior to assembly with the cut off date 3 days before the assembly to allow time to create video.
- Consider holding the assembly in the afternoon with punch and cookies (snacks) so students would be able to go home with their guest.
- Ask custodians to put up more chairs especially for teachers to sit
- Call Shriners for motorcycle riders, mini-car drivers, etc.

- Birthday cards – doesn’t seem to work out. The cadre voted to stop staff cards at this time.
- Secret Santa – last year it was replaced with the white elephant door-to-door exchange. We will talk with Kara about a preference for this year.
- We will talk with Chrysta about faculty and staff helping buy toys for Willard South family Christmas baskets.

- Yes, food on the 14th and 16th BOTH. Oh, what the heck! The cadre voted that everyone is welcome to bring food to celebrate the holidays any and every day the week before Christmas break!!! Enjoy!!! We can always diet after New Years Day!!!

- Final email will be sent out on October 23rd. Clarification on social committee dues: retirement parties, baby showers, bereavement flowers, gift cards for special days (administrator’s day, secretary’s day, etc.) and more miscellaneous events.
4. Birthday treats
- WOW Wednesday! October 24th is 4th grade, BASE, and Assist-goodies in the workroom for October birthdays!
5. Tiger Pride Assembly

Our Willard South community will…

7. Veteran’s Day Assembly
- Possibilities for speakers: Sarah Simms brother and Keeghan Aye’s grandmother (she has been the oldest veteran present for 2 yrs.)
- A map will be created to let the teachers/students know where to stand for the motorcycle “brigade”. Directions in which classes will be going out certain doors will also be in the map to aid in quick dismissal. Riders will be asked to wait until all classes are outside.
- Stan will be asked to announce the veteran’s as they are walking in to the cafeteria.
- The letter to have parents send in pictures/emails of family veteran’s will be sent out on Friday. The display this year will be put on a cd (slide show and music) and displayed at the entrance to the cafeteria on TV.
- Ask Mrs. Brown’s “bell ringers” to perform a song. Zachary Gibby will be performing a song on the piano also.
- Pictures will be set up in the library.
- Boy Scouts will present flags.

2. MAP preparations – We still need about 40 formula cans, locate MAP erasers, candy (Smarties, Kisses, Starlite Mints, Starbursts, Tootsie Rolls) discussed, Kickoff Assembly on April 8
3. Set agenda for next meeting scheduled for April 6 during which time we will assemble MAP cans, etc.

- Everyone felt like Kara did a great job with the activities, location, and the time management for the grade levels.

- Kara will be in charge of the Fight Free Party to be held this Friday, Feb. 6th in the cafeteria. She will be getting a schedule of activities to the staff. The plan is for everyone to have their specials and their recess times..
- This party will combine the semester Fight Free Party and the 100th Day Fight Free Party.
3. Fat Tuesday celebration:
- Treats will be provided by the Climate Cadre on Feb. 24th
- Kara will be providing the workroom decorations and beads for faculty and staff.

Business:
1. Feed back on Tiger Pride Assembly.
Suggestions were given for shortening the assembly. The cadre will work on the order
of services prior to the next assembly.
2. Veterans’ Day Assembly.
Kara will take care of the breakfast for the students and their guest.
Kara has contacted Life Touch for photos to be taken in the library of the students and
their guest.
Invitations have been sent out and responses will be sent to A. Yates’ room for display and counting.
The assembly agenda will follow last years format. The Boy Scouts have been contacted to do the flag ceremony, Student Counsel members will be reading a poem about the flag, Stan will be announcing the entrance of the students and their guest, and the veteran motorcycle riders will be here again this year.
3. Other Topics.
The Food Drive will be from Nov. 10 – 14.

We discussed the next Tiger Pride Assembly which should be March 21st. In the workroom along with McDonalds coupons there are KFC tokens for free food.
We also discussed MAP testing dates…April 14-18th.
We still need formula cans if anyone can obtain them. A note to families will go out again about bringing in formula cans.

1. Marla McKan will distribute Character Ed sheets. She will e-mail teachers and explain how they are to be used.
2. Tiger Pride Assembly is Oct. 19th at 2:00p.m. Lori Ferguson will e-mail teachers and explain Tiger Pride Certificates, and Most Valuable Tiger awards.
3. The cadre started planning the Veterans Day Assembly which is scheduled Nov. 9th at 9:00 or 9:15 a.m. Anita Yates is organizing a letter that will be sent to parents telling what the assembly is about, and inviting them to invite a veteran .
4. After the meeting adjourned, it was offered to have a group of veterans that ride motorcycles to circle the parking lot for students to cheer for and this will the big finish of the morning.Next meeting Nov. 5thDec. 3,2007

Classroom teachers will be in the gym with their students.
Music will be playing, popcorn, and drinks will be served.
Students can dance, and if you want, Lori said we can use her hula hoops and jump ropes.

Is the Playground Safe Enough?Anita Yates brought up the fact that we have at least 90 new students to the building.
Lower grades seem to be having problems on the playground, and we discussed was this due to the fact that we have more new students???
Do we have enough teachers on duty? Do we need to have a typed set of rules posted somewhere? Substitutes need to not be alone on duty…such as two substitutes on duty together.
Conclusions…Kara would be alerted about our concerns, and we will talk about this at our next meeting.We previewed a short (7mins) Veterans Day Video, and discussed if we should include it in our Veterans Day activities on Nov. 11th.Anita Yates picked up some Incredible Pizza coupons to be used for Tiger Pride Certificates and for Perfect Attendance Certificates
