September 10,2007
Members Present: Linda Shortt, Becky Moore, Kathy Latimer, Christine Bailey, Rebecca Mooney, Susan Shikany, Jeri Washington, David Suits, Colleen Appleby, Rachel Reynolds, Brenda Hyde, parent – CJ Crews, special guest – Yvonne Galloway1. Discussed containers Linda found at the Ozark Wal-Mart for homework help ideas. The backpack seems to be the best choice for third graders. It can be left at home as a work station with supplies needed to complete homework. Items that come inside the backpack can be taken out and used for incentives. Yvonne suggested that the clipboard-type box would be a better choice for forth graders. They don’t need as many supplies, therefore the container doesn’t need to be as big and can be carried everyday.
2. Rebecca Mooney is working toward getting the Jordan Valley Community Health Center involved with serving our students. Her husband works at the health center. We
discussed the need for dental and health care for our less fortunate students.3. The Kindergarten Safety Night is October 2 from 6 – 7 in the cafeteria. We could use extra hands from 5:30 to 7:30. Great Career Ladder hours with a fun activity.
4. Remaining meeting time was spent separating garage sale clothing in the trailer. Susan Shikany, Christine Bailey, Kathy Latimer, Jeri Washington, and Rebecca Mooney separated clothing. Colleen Appleby and Linda Shortt marked items.
HELP!!! The Garage Sale is September 22 from 7 am to 12 pm. All hands needed to bring in, mark, and help set up for this event. Set up will begin about 4:00 on the 21st. The sale is at an earlier date this fall to help clean out the trailer for Chrysta to have necessary space to assist families. Money will stay within our district helping our
kids:)

2. Reviewed April notes.3. Previous homework survey showed concerns from upper grade teachers. Lack of supplies at home are a possible problem. Committee members will watch for containers that would be suitable to send supplies home in for 3rd and 4th graders. The thought is that it should be made a big deal of – that kids keep it at home a special place for their
homework.
4. The Garage Sale is September 22 from 7 am to 12 pm. All hands needed to bring in, mark, and help set up for this event. Set up will begin about 4:00 on the 21st. The sale
