- Set each computer to private print to prevent wasting of paper and loss of print jobs. Concerned that the Private Print will revert back to Normal Print as a default. (We will start with Lindsay Campbell, Susan Shikany, Kathy Davis, Becky Mooney, David Suits, Cindy Kisling, Lisa Kisling and Anita Yates due to IEPs.)
- On Excel and Publisher it will default back to normal print.
- We checked MS Word, PDF (Adobe), e-mail, PowerPoint, MS Works and they all remained private print. (YAY!)
- Each computer password will be their room number.
- Any time staff members print multiple copies they need to use private print. If they are printing only one copy, then they may use normal print.
- Rachel Tennison will go around to the above mentioned staff members and set their print to private to ensure IEP confidentiality.

Ann saw a Kodak 12x Easy Share camera on the Sam’s website
for $118.
Cartridge World has not yet picked up the cartridges.
PTO Letter – Finished and send – We would like each grade
level to have their own digital camera to use with
rechargeable batteries. We are requesting one recharging
unit to share (it recharges very quickly). The total cost
is $710-$740 depending on the camera prices when we are able
to purchase them.

- Robert from Waste Management will be coming soon to do a
waste evaluation. He is focus most of this on the kitchen
and cafeteria. After the evaluation, he will suggest some
“green” ideas to reduce waste.
- Sam’s has 2 GB SD cards for $8. We would like to get
these and a SD reader (about $15) for school use.
- We would like to ask the Leadership Team what they would
like us to work on. What do they view as tech needs of the
building?

- Ann called Robert during our meeting. He will come on

grants, etc.
- The art room should have new tech. goodies installed in
December

Order of business:
- Read minutes from the September meeting
- Read minutes from the last Leadership meeting
- Linda Rhodes talked to Kimberly White about a grant program
that may pay for our building to get large outdoor recycling
bins. They would provide the money (in the spring) but we
would have to find out where and how to get them here. We
would like ot have bins for aluminum/tin and plastic.
Someone thought we should call our current trash company to
see if they would have some available, would pick up the
recycling from time to time, and how much that would be.
WCA was called (800)323-7548. Clyde said he would look into
it for us and call back with more information.
- Ann Kynion told us that the district art teachers had a
meeting about new textbooks vs. more technology. They
decided they would rather have more technology. The
district will be providing a new Smartboards, an Elmo, a
digital camera, and a laptop for each elementary art room.
Next meeting
- We need to count the empty ink cartridges and call
Cartridge World about coming to pick them up.
- Talk about switching blogs from Edublogs to Wordpress.
Climate Cadre Minutes
Sept 9, 2008

Order of business:
1. A company is willing to donate toner cartridges. Linda called Cartrige World during our meeting. They will take
them for us, but will not pay us for them. We have decided to contact the company and tell them we do not need them. They can also be given to Women’s Shelters. We will ask for Leadership Committee input on this
2. Sara S. in the building mentioned trying to collect cell phones for soldiers. Each cell phone that is donated will
be given to a soldier with 60 minutes of free phone time.
3. As a cadre, we are interested in getting Willard South more into recycling. We will ask about having large
recycling bin placed at our school for the community to use.
All used paper can be placed in the cardboard recycling bin that we currently have.
4. Ann has called lots of trash companies about cost for service and recycling. She found out that Reliable Trash
Company (869-5759) has the best rate for service and takes recycling for free!
5. Linda will take over responsibilty of updating the WS Cadre Minutes edublogs.

1. We still don’t know what Cartridge World will be paying us for the cartridges that they picked up. They have been called several times, but have not given us an answer.
2. The Tech Cadre purchased a snowball microphone. It will be used by After School Actors to record their dramatic readings.
3. Reading Counts is being updated.
4. Lori F. would like help making a blog.
5. Kelly A. and Linda R. will be working on a library blog.

3. Edublogs site is down…again. Sarah has all of the past information formatted ready to revise the website.
4. Cartridge World picked up cartridges. Linda called asking for how much they are going to pay us. They told her we would get more than most people since we are a non-profit organization. Someone will call her tomorrow with a check amount.

1. Papa Murphy cards are available in the library. Julie will sell them at the 2nd grade show on December 11.
2. Reading Counts Cindy’s computers have been updated and are working very well.
New Business
1. Ink cartridges – someone needs to call Cartridge World to ask them to pick up our current stock of used cartridges. Julie will call.
2. Running Ad-Aware and Spy Bot on school computers not to be used on newer computers. Cindy will find out the ages of all WS computers and try to find when some of the older computers will be replaced.
3. Projectors Galloway’s projector is now working. Teel’s stopped working today. It is less that one year old and should be under warranty. Ann has asked Kara if they could get the art room projector suspended from the ceiling.
4. All Tech rooms will be receiving surround sound
5. Monday, December 10 Professional Development some tech people in computer lab to help people with blogs while others make clay ornaments.
6. Sarah Jordan will change cadre blog so each cadre will have its own page
7. Tech Cadre has a balance of $245 in the account
8. Call to Papa Murphy’s confirms that cards can be used at any location
9. Cartridge World will come by to pick up and pay for some of the cartridges.
